How it works

Four steps from payment to a recorded transaction.

Step 1
Start and pay
Buyer or seller, whoever starts it creates a free account, enters their role, the other party's email, what is being sold, and the amount, then pays $5.
Step 2
Both get a private deal room
After payment, each of you gets an email with your own private deal room link. Nothing is posted publicly.
Step 3
Verify
The seller verifies a government ID and selfie with Stripe Identity. The buyer verifies a mobile phone with a text code.
Step 4
Leave feedback
Once both sides verify, you each leave feedback within 30 days and the transaction is recorded on the seller's record.

What is a deal room?

A deal room is a private page for one Deal Pass. The buyer and the seller each get their own link, so each of you sees your own side of the deal and only the step you need to do.

What you see and do there

What is being sold, the amount, and the current status
Who is in the deal: the seller's ID status and the buyer's phone status
A warning if the other party has published scam alerts or marks against them
The one step you need to do next, and a button to do it
Shipping and tracking details, when available for your deal
Feedback for the other party once you have both verified
For the seller: a read-only verified sale link to drop into a listing
For the payer: an option to close the pass if the other party has not verified after 5 days

The timeline

Every Deal Pass runs on the same clock, counted from payment.

Day 0

Payment

5 daysbefore you can close: If the other party still has not verified, the payer can close the pass and keeps the credit.
14 daysto verify: Both parties verify within this window after payment, or the pass expires with no transaction recorded.
30 daysto leave feedback: Starts once both sides verify. If only one of you rates by the deadline, the transaction is still recorded.
30 daysto use your credit: The payer gets a $5 credit toward Verified Identity, applied automatically at checkout.

Questions

Do I need to be a member?: No. You only need a free account to start a Deal Pass. Verified Identity is not required, and the $5 you pay counts toward it if you decide to get verified within 30 days.
Does the other party need an account?: The buyer never needs an account. They verify a phone by text code, and we store a protected hash of the number, not the number itself. The seller signs in or creates a free account inside the deal room to verify their ID. A seller who is already verified on the platform is recognized without a second check.
Who pays?: Whoever starts the Deal Pass pays $5, whether they are the buyer or the seller. The other party pays nothing.
What if the other party never verifies?: If they have not verified after 5 days, the payer can close the pass from their deal room and keeps the $5 credit. If nobody closes it, the pass expires 14 days after payment with no transaction recorded.
Does RepChecked hold the money?: No. Deal Pass is not escrow. It does not hold or move money for the transaction. Identity verification establishes who someone is. It does not guarantee the outcome of a transaction.
Where do I find my deal rooms?: Each party gets their private link by email after payment. If you are signed in, you can also find them under Dashboard > Deal Pass.
